New Products from FHF

At Family History Films we are always collaborating with our clients, and as it turns out that doesn’t stop once the project has wrapped. Over the last couple of years we have listened to feedback from our clients on what their needs are and what more we can offer. These conversations have culminated in three brand new offerings from FHF which we are excited to now be launching: The Portal, Starter Packs and Research Reports. 

The Portal

Ever since our inception FHF has offered archiving services; after all gathering together old photographs and documents is an essential stage in our research process. However more recently clients had been asking for an archive that was not static and finite, but evolutionary and updateable. They wanted something that could be kept constantly up to date, that could house both the old family albums and the latest iCloud. What's more they wanted it fully searchable - so that individual images could be found quickly and easily using keywords. Finally with an increase in clients opting for all three of our core services; film, book and archive - they wanted something that could house digital copies of all their FHF projects - all in one place. 

Combining our experience of archives with our technical partner's expertise, we built the FHF Portal - a private, individual, password protected website. Housing not only a client’s archive, but also an interactive family tree, copies of their film and an online viewing copy of their book. As with our traditional archives the Portal organises all a client’s assets into relevant folders and sub-folders, but now they are also tagged with meta-data, making them fully searchable using the search bar. As part of the service we will also keep your Portal up to date for you, just send us any and all of your latest pics and we’ll get them tagged, organised and uploaded.

Starter Packs

Starter Packs were born of an email we received just before Christmas last year from a highly valued client; ‘can I gift FHF?’. Our client explained that he wanted to give the gift of a Family History Film to two of his colleagues, but that he wanted them to take their projects in their own directions. Thus together we worked on the idea of a ‘Starter Pack’, the first step in the journey towards creating a bespoke book, film or archive. Clients gift the first part of a project and then the recipients choose where to take it from there.

Our starter packs are available from two distinct price points, depending on the proportion clients would like to gift. Once we’ve been introduced to the recipient we will work with them to craft a project that suits them.  They embark on an incredible journey of discovery and reflection, whilst our clients give the gift of a lifetime.

Research Reports

Already proving extremely popular, our Research Reports grew out of the desire of some of our clients to know what the genealogical research was, before they decided how best to present it. Research Reports are a deep dive into the history and ancestry of a family, presented as a fully referenced PDF report, with important documents as appendices and in a corresponding online folder. Clients can either choose to stop there, with a much deeper knowledge of their family history, or they can use the Research Report as a platform for a film or a book.
