How Does it Work?

There are a few simple stages to make your Family History film, and we will be with you for all of them. Remember that there is no obligation to begin with - if you'd like to know more simply get in touch with us today.

1. An initial FREE consultation. (15/30 mins by phone or in person). If you are interested in finding out more, one of our team will arrange an initial appointment to explain in detail everything about the film and the process. We will answer any questions you may have. There is NO OBLIGATION at this stage.

2. Preparation. When you're happy to go ahead with the film, the next stage will be a period of detailed research. We have access to all of the main genealogy services as well as past census information. We will keep you closely informed on what we find as we work, incorporating any information you may already have. If you already have information about your family tree and background we can use some of that, but if not then don't worry. Our experienced team of researchers will study your family's background and find fascinating stories we can film.

This will usually involve a longer interview or series of interviews conducted over the phone or in person.

3. Filming. We will film you - ideally in the comfort of your home and in places of interest to you - as well as whoever else you would like to be in the film. This will normally require one or more visits for filming.

Once all the elements of your film have been decided on, and we feel we have the correct stories as well as the right materials, we are ready to begin editing.

 4. Editing/Post-production. We will take care of all of this, and we will be in regular contact with you to update you and show you portions of the film. Once the editing process is complete, we will present it to you, and you can suggest any changes you see fit.

 5. Delivery. The whole process will take approximately one month (under current lead times) at the end of which we will deliver the agreed materials.
